THE TWIFO/ATI-MORKWA DISTRICT HOLDS ITS MAIDEN INTER-SCHOOL CULTURAL FESTIVAL AT THE TWIFO PRASO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

THE TWIFO/ATI-MORKWA DISTRICT HOLDS ITS MAIDEN INTER-SCHOOL CULTURAL FESTIVAL AT THE TWIFO PRASO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

The Centre for National Culture (CNC), a Department with the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District, held its maiden edition of the Inter-School Cultural Festival on the 1st day of July, 2022 at the Twifo Praso Senior High School (TWIPASS) Auditorium.

Gracing the event were high profile personalities such, Madam Dorcas Alhassan Salamatu – the Ag. Regional Director (CNC, Cape Coast), Mr. O. K. Sampson – the Public Relations Officer (CNC, Cape Coast), Madam Gifty Tay – the Cultural Coordinator for Twifo/Ati-Morkwa (GES), Mrs. Emily Rita Pinto – the Headmistress to TWIPASS and Mr. Alex Owusu Paintsil – the Assistant Headmaster (TWIPASS).

The Guest of Honour, Madam Dorcas Alhassan Salamatu, warmly welcomed all the schools present. She encouraged participants saying that engaging in such activities was pleasant and that it also enabled Student’s IQ. She further acknowledged the District Director of Education for such an opportunity given to the Department reach out to talents in the Schools. She added by saying, ‘It is a pleasant we are with you all this morning and we would continue to partner with you especially on days like these. At the end of the day, we would be proud partakers of the life of these future leaders’.

A ceremonial beating of drums was displayed by Morkwa Senior High School to commence the event. About Three Hundred (300) Students from Nine (9) Basic Schools participated in the event enthusiastically as the atmosphere was charged with a competitive spirit among the students. The traditional cultural performances displayed by various schools clearly highlighted the true spirit of participation.

The most awaited moment of the day was the award ceremony. The Judges were set to give honor to the winners of various individual and group performances. Ansaarudeen Basic School came top of the competition and bagged home the trophy. A/D Basic School and TOPP Basic School were placed second and third respectively.

All participating Schools received participation certificates, whilst, some individuals also received special honors after the competition.
