On November 12, 2025, the Chief District Executive, Hon. Isaac Yawson, together with the Member of Parliament, Hon. David Vondee, His Excellency Hakeem Addae, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Richard Dela Darkey, and Heads of Departments and Units, took part in the sod-cutting ceremony for a new CHPS Compound at Merekokrom.

The new facility, when completed, will serve as a decentralized healthcare center, improving access to quality healthcare services for the people of Merekokrom and its surrounding communities. This initiative is expected to greatly enhance the health and well-being of residents.

The construction of the CHPS Compound reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and bringing essential health services closer to the community.
