TAMDA OBSERVES GREEN GHANA DAY
The District Chief Executive for Twifo/Ati-Morkwa, Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi has advised citizenry of the District to take tree planting seriously as the old adage goes “when the last tree dies, the last man dies”
He made this comment at the forecourt of the District Magistrate Court where the 2022 Green Ghana Day tree planting exercise took place on Friday 10th June, 2022. The exercise was in collaboration with the Assin Fosu and Dunkwa Forestry Commission.
The exercise was also attended by personnel from the Forestry Commission, the District Magistrate, the District Police Commander, the District Fire Commander and other personnel from the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly.
Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi stated that the entire Country is expected to plant Twenty Million (20 million) trees and in division, the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District is to plant Twenty Thousand (20, 000). Among this number, Twifo Oil Palm Plantation requested and has been supplied with Four Thousand Two Hundred (4, 200) seedlings, the Church of Pentecost with Ten Thousand (10, 000) seedlings, the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Hospital with One Thousand (1, 000) seedlings and the Twifo Praso Senior High School with One Thousand (1, 000) seedlings.
He was quick to add that seedlings which included the Cedrela, Odum, Bamboo, Ofram and Cassia were available at the District Assembly for individuals and organizations at no cost at all.
