Schools Visitations for Sensitisation by the Social Welfare Department of the District.

The Social Welfare Department of the District conducted a series of school visitations to educate students on societal issues such as child rights, personal hygiene, social responsibility, and substance abuse. The campaign began at Bimpongegya D/A Basic, where representatives from the department emphasised the importance of education and discipline in shaping a successful future. The department also addressed the growing concern of substance abuse among the youth, using real-life examples to illustrate the devastating effects of such harmful practices.

Personal hygiene and sanitation were also emphasised, with the department collaborating with health professionals to educate students on proper practices like handwashing, oral care, and menstrual hygiene for adolescent girls. At Twifo Ntiamoah D/A Basic school, young girls were given sanitary products and educated on maintaining good menstrual health.

The department also introduced an interactive segment for students to share their personal concerns and seek guidance. Many students expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for the knowledge gained, and the department reaffirmed its commitment to conducting more such programs in the future. This school sensitisation initiative demonstrates the power of education in transforming communities and continues to pave the way for a brighter, healthier, and more informed future for the district’s young generation.
