REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE PRA BRIDGE, 2023
“Twifo Praso Bridge falling apart”. This was the caption by graphic Online on September 25, 2019 when graphic first visited Twifo Praso to Inspect the State of the River Pra bridge.
Graphic further reported that “the Paramount Chief for the area Nana Kwesi Kenin, was outraged about the many empty promises made by government after government to construct the bridge.
“The NDC promised and failed”, the Graphic Online media stated.
It was further stated by the Online media that, “the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo, himself promised to ensure the bridge is constructed”.
Also, mcOnline another Online media, as part of its monitoring works, visited Twifo Praso to inspect the state of the bridge over the River Pra. “The Construction of a new bridge has already started”, mcOnline confirmed. Physical works on the bridge commenced July 1, 2020.
Contacting the District Chief Executive of Twifo/Ati-Morkwa (Hon Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi) who exercises an oversight responsibility over the project, confirmed to mcOnline that his constant interactions with the Contractor indicates that the 175-metre bridge will be opened to the public this year by ending of May, 2023. The project also includes the construction of tarred roads at the approaches at both ends of the bridge.
