TAMDA IN COLLABORATION WITH GIZ HOLDS A STAKEHOLDER MEETING ON AGRICULTURE BUSINESS
The Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly in collaboration with GIZ held a meeting purposely for rice and oil palm stakeholders on Agriculture Business as part of the Governance for Inclusive Development on Wednesday, 13th July, 2022.
The District Co-ordinating Director – Mr. Bernard K. P. Sakyiama, the District Director of Agriculture- Mr. Bright Danso, the District Development Planning Officer – Mr. Alfred Dadson, the Agriculture Sub-Committee Chairman – Hon. Sayeed Effah, the Regional Advisor for GIZ – Mr. Garry Kwamena Bonney, the Technical Advisor for GIZ – Madam Maria Goretti Quashie, some farm representatives as well as some Heads of Departments.
Speaking at the meeting, the District Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Bernard K. P. Sakyiama, warmed the gathering with a welcome address and went further to entreat the gathering to be open minded about the training as it steers towards being a lucrative venture. Again, he called for their maximum participation towards the meeting.
Madam Maria Goretti Quarshie also took the opportunity and gave background information on the German Cooperation [GIZ]. She further gave voice to discussion on data, dialogues and investment solutions. On data, she talked about where information on agriculture can be obtained and how it can be stored. She went on to discuss with the gathering on dialogues between members. Some of the concerns raised were on how and where meetings were held, who puts the topic for meetings across to representatives at meetings, since these were factors that aided in proper dialogue between stakeholders.
Members also presented questions, suggestions and sought clarifications.
