Yesterday 20th May,2026, the District Chief Executive presented a total amount of GH¢30,000 to persons with visual impairment and the physically challenged within the district as part of efforts to support and empower vulnerable groups in society.
The presentation ceremony brought together beneficiaries, community leaders, and other stakeholders who witnessed the generous support offered by the District Assembly. In his address, the District Chief Executive emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to improving the welfare of persons living with disabilities and helping them become financially independent.
According to the DCE, the initiative was aimed at assisting beneficiaries to engage in small-scale trading and other income-generating activities in order to improve their livelihoods. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support by investing the money wisely into profitable ventures.
A total of ten beneficiaries received financial assistance, with each person receiving GH¢3,000 to support their trading activities. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the District Chief Executive and the Assembly for the kind gesture and promised to use the funds responsibly.
Some beneficiaries described the support as timely and life-changing, noting that it would help them expand their businesses and cater for their personal needs. They also appealed for more such interventions in the future to support other persons living with disabilities in the district.
The event ended with words of encouragement and appreciation from community members and officials present at the ceremony.
