TAMDA DISBURSES FUNDS TO PWD’S

The Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly (TAMDA) on Friday, 12th November, 2021 disbursed an amount of Twenty-seven Thousand Six hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS 27,600.00) to Forty-two (42) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through the Social Welfare and Community Development Department.

Mr. Kofi Kwakye, Head of the Social Welfare and Community Development Department, also advised members of the federation to use the money given them profitably.

The Chairman for the Disability Fund Committee, Hon. Joseph Sayed Effah in his speech entreated the gathering to announce and encourage other Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in their various communities to come to the Department of Social Welfare to register and become members of the Federation.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi in his speech, mentioned that there had been an increment with the funds since the ruling Government was elected. He further commended the Government for the support given the Educational Sector which included the Free Education Policy, the School Feeding Program, as well as the provision of Capitation Grants to save parents from the payment of certain fees required by the schools. He mentioned that the Government had also made opportunities available for Senior High School (SHS) graduates who were unable to further their education through the Government’s Scholarship and infurtherance to that, he said the the scholarship was also available at the Distirct level. Concluding his speech, he said that an arrangement had been made to provide twenty (20) white canes for the blind who are with the Federation to aid their movement.
