ALL SMILES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN TWIFO/ATI-MORKWA DISTRICT AS THEY RECEIVE ITEMS

In ensuring the evenly distribution of support to Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) in the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District, the Social Welfare Department of the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly has through its allocated quota of the District Assembly Common Fund supported twenty (20) more persons with disability within the boundaries of the District. On Thursday 3rd December 2020, the twenty persons were presented with and took home exactly what they requested for. Items distributed includes:

  1. Fifteen (15) Deep Freezers
  2. Three (3) Weeds Blower Solo Machines
  3. One (1) Industrial Sewing Machine
  4. Seven (7) Wheel Barrows  

Mr. Eric Seasi, in his speech commended the Government through the Assembly for always coming to their aid and advised the beneficiaries to engage in businesses to keep themselves busy instead of idling about. He went on to remind the gathering on the sensitization being organized on Saturday,5th December,2020 to help the Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) to vote easily without any stress in the coming election.

Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi, District Chief Executive for Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly in his speech mentioned that the Common Fund was not only meant for developmental projects in the District but to also cater for the wellbeing of Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s). In continuing, he added that the Government had increased their beneficiary percentage from 2% to 3% and therefore urged beneficiaries to use the items for the purposes for which they were given them and also bring friends and family with disabilities into the Federation. He ended his speech by advising the gathering to observe all Covid -19 protocols and also have a peaceful election.

Mr. Oteng from the Social Welfare Department, urged the beneficiaries to work with the items so that their lives will be better and easier as soon enough monitoring officers would be dispatched into their various homes or establishments. He then thanked the gathering for their time and the program was successfully brought to an end.
