TAMDA HOLDS FIRST CORE MANAGEMENT MEETING OF THE YEAR.

As public officers, as the year comes to an end and a new chapter emerges, there is the need to assess various performances, address them, and improve them.

Last year, for instance, one of the major challenges we encountered as a team was reporting, which affected our performances.

I encourage all to sit up and do better this year. This is what the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Awal A.M. Suhuyini said as he addressed heads of departments on Wednesday, 15th January, 2025.

In maintaining proper reports, administrative officers met on Monday 13th January, 2025 on how they can liaise with various unit heads to adopt regular reporting skills. In a setting like the district assembly, the reporting system he said is cumulative, and it is upon this that the assembly builds its report.

Mr. Awal expressed the need for the election of a Presiding member as an approval and election of District Chief Executive (DCE) may be impossible. He pledged management of holding an assembly meeting towards the election of a Presiding member. This, he said, will smooth the appointment and election of the DCE for the district. Without a Presiding member, a DCE cannot be confirmed in the district and amongst assembly members.

Also, with the new government appointees, a special meeting with the magistrate will be held to swear new members in.

He was of the view that by the close of 31st January, 2025, there should be announcements of new MMDCE’s to the various assemblies, and when that time comes, unit heads will be called upon.

In relation to the non-availability of the MMDCE’s post, the DCD cautioned heads to guard their speech with the utmost care following the recent political tension and change of government.

Performance contracts and staff appraisals were other matters addressed by the DCD as he encouraged unit heads to ensure that their assistants comply with timelines set for submission of documents.

Prior to the closure of the meeting, he took the opportunity to introduce and welcome the newly posted head of the Environmental Department, Mr. Richard Senyo Charhe, into the district.

Mr. Joseph Odoom, head of Management Information System (MIS) encouraged staff to seek appropriate ways of fixing faulty machines before involving third parties, as doing so without MIS technical advice may result in data loss.

In a closing remarks by the DCD, he pledged to support all staff reach their goals should they fall on his outfit.
