THE DCE, PM, DISTRICT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND OTHER EDUCATION OFFICIALS PAYS A SURPRISE VISIT TO THE MORKWA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.

In an unannounced visit following a donation event at the Otwekrom-Adiya D/A Basic School, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon Isaac Yawson, the District Director of Education, Mrs. Augustina Atakorah and the Presiding Member Hon Daniel Agbodza of the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District (TAMD) arrived at the Mokwa Senior High School to engage with staff and assess the school’s needs.

The delegation was warmly received by the Assistant Headmaster Mr. Elvis Agyapong on behalf of teaching and teaching staff of the school.

The DCE, introducing himself as the newly appointed leader of the district, shared his background as a former teacher before rising to his current role. He emphasized his dual responsibilities as a representative of the President of Ghana and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the district.

During his address, the DCE assured the staff of his commitment to advocating for the construction of an E-block to address infrastructural challenges of the school. He also urged teachers to remain dedicated; noting concerns of absenteeism only 18 out of 25 teaching staff were present during the visit. “Let’s do our best for the betterment of all,” he urged, stressing the importance of teacher-student engagement and consistent attendance.

Mrs. Augustina Atakorah also echoed similar sentiments as she addressed the staff present, advising teachers to prioritize student support. “Let’s help the students pass so we can attract more learners to our school,” she stated, requesting the names of teachers absent for the necessary disciplinary actions to be taken.

In a gesture of appreciation, the DCE donated and amount of two hundred Ghana cedis (GH¢200) to staff present.

The Mr. Elvis Agyapong expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff, thanking the DCE, DDE, and PM for their visit and support.

The visit concluded with a brief tour of classrooms, where officials greeted students and observed learning activities. The surprise inspection highlighted the district’s focus on accountability, infrastructure development, and quality education in TAMD schools.
