TWIFO/ATI-MORKWA DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ENGAGES CITIZENRY IN CLEAN-UP EXERCISE

TWIFO/ATI-MORKWA DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ENGAGES CITIZENRY IN CLEAN-UP EXERCISE

The Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly in preparation towards the National 65th Independence Day Celebration, organized a Districtwide clean-up exercise on Saturday, 5th March, 2022.

The exercise took off at around 5:30am and closed at 10:00am. Involved in the exercise were the District Co-ordinating Director – Mr. Bernard K.P Sakyiama, Staff of the District Assembly, Twifo Praso Senior High School students, the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) Branch Managers, the Traders Associations and all other organizations took part in the exercise.

At the community level, Assembly Members of the various electoral areas as well as and Community Chiefs with assistance from the Community Members were greatly engaged in the exercise.

The exercise, which was a nationwide event saw citizens distilling gutters, cleaning their frontages, cleaning the various markets spaces and clearing weedy areas in the District.

Citizens whose frontage were unkempt and also refused to partake in the exercise were summons before the Twifo Praso Magistrate Court.

The exercise, according to the District Environmental Health Officer was a success as TAMDA considering the frequency of it.
