TAMDA SUPPORTS #GREENGHANA
The Ghana Forestry Commission through the Assin Fosu Forestry and Dunkwa Forestry Districts in collaboration with the Twifo Ati-Morkwa District Assembly (TAMDA) on the Friday, June 11th 2021 launched the GREEN GHANA PROJECT and also partook in the GREEN GHANA TREE PLANTING exercise.
The representatives from the two Forestry Districts, Assin Fosu and Dunkwa, educated the gathering on the essence of some of the seedlings that were to be used in the exercise.
The Honorable District Chief Executive for Twifo/Ati-Morkwa, Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi in delivering his speech mentioned that it was essential for everyone to partake in the exercise since our natural resources (trees) have been destroyed for far too long a time, instead of protecting them for the future generation. He cautioned the gathering against robbing nature by practicing the illegal felling down of trees and also make it a habit of reporting culprits. He said, ‘If the last tree dies, the last man dies and so let us preserve the vegetation with our lives since our very existence depends on it.
The Honorable District Chief Executive led the gathering to plant the first tree as an example for the gathering to follow. He tasked every Department at the Twifo Ati-Morkwa District Assembly to follow suit and in honor of their Department.
