TAMDA DISBURSES THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND (GH¢35,000.00) GHANA CEDIS TO PWDS

The Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly disbursed Thirty-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢35,000.00) and Three (3) Deep Freezers to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on Friday, 22nd July, 2022 at the Assembly Hall.

At the event were, Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi (District Chief Executive), Mr. Dominic Akotei (DFPD, Chairperson), Miss Esther Offei (Mental Health Professional) and the Media.

On behalf of the District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Augustine Oteng welcomed members of the Federation to the meeting. He then said that, their meeting’s purpose was to disburse funds and items to the PWDS. He revealed that thirty-five (35) persons would each receive One-thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢1,000.00) whilst three other members would each receive a deep freezer. He counseled the members to make good use of the resources they receive to curb burdening their families and the society.

The Mental Health Professional, Madam Esther Offei, recommended Members with mental illnesses to seek treatment at the nearest Health Center. She advised that persons with mental issues frequently sought medical attention in order to avoid spending stipends provided to them for subsistence on illnesses.

Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi, welcomed members gathered. He expressed his excitement as the membership of the Federation in the grew. In addition, he encouraged members to remain positive despite their circumstances and make good use of the donations received. He discussed other programs available to support members which included, training in artisanship, providing of aids (crutches and white canes) to support members of the Federation.
