DCE DONATES HEALTH EQUIPMENTS TO AYABENG CHPS COMPOUND

On Tuesday, 30th May, 2023, the District Chief Executive of Twifo/Ati-Morkwa, Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi engaged the citizenry of Bepobeng and Ayaase Communities, in the District, on the wellbeing of the Ayabeng CHPS Compound and the District at large. The event took place at the Ayebeng CHPS Compound sandwiched between Bepobeng and Ayaase.

In attendance to grace this event included the District Chief Executive (DCE) himself – Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi, the District Health Director (DHD) – Mr. Samuel Ofosu, the Assistant Director One (1) – Mr. Bernard Koomson and the Assemblymember for the area Honourable Saed Effah, the Chief of Ayaase – Nana Duah, committee members of Ayebeng, some Departmental/Unit Heads of the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District Assembly and Health Workers of the Ayebeng CHPs Compound.

Honourable Joseph Saed Effah began his address by acknowledging the presence of the audience and commended the D.C.E and DHD for their support and sustenance of the Ayebeng CHPS compound and their promise of engaging the citizenry. He then urged the DCE to continue the good work he is doing for the Twifo/Ati-Morkwa District.

The DHD took turns to commend the efforts of the community members for having maintained the health facility for over ten (10) years and their support in the fight against Covid-19 during its outbreak. He however expressed the challenges the health facility is facing in the areas water, security and the poor state of the health facility.

He shared the Health Directorates intention to upgrade the CHPS compound into a Health Centre and asked for a rallied support in helping this dream become a reality.

The D.C.E, in his address, shared with the community governments intention to supporting the health system in the country and most importantly that of the Twifo Praso district Assembly. He advised that even though Covid-19 has been declared by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as no longer a public health concern, he however shared the indelible effect Covid-19 had left amongst netizens of which many if not most are now conscious of hand hygiene in every point of their life. He further encouraged community members to continue to uphold hygiene practices wherever they find themselves. He further pledged to mechanise the borehole in the Ayebeng CHPS compound to support a better delivery of health Service in the community.

He shared with the citizenry governments health initiatives of which over One Hundred and One (101) hospitals have been constructed across the country which Twifo Praso has benefitted from such projects. In the light of this, he made a donation to the health facility, the items included; Hb meter, five (5) 3-seater link chairs, examination Lamp, Fetal Heart Detector, Hemoglobin meter, Oxygen Concentrator, Nasal Strong, Pulse Oximeter, Supply Tube, Fridge, Digital BP Checker, Infrared Thermoter, Ward Screen, Wheel Chair and a Flat Screen Television set.

He also shared governments intentions to complete the Ayaase – Agona roads, Araso – Opokukrom roads and expand the Praso Roads to ease the growing traffic pressure in the district.

He encouraged them of the districts support in the field of Agriculture, as palm fruits will be distributed to farmers in various communities in the district to boost agriculture in the district.

Furthermore, he encouraged all gathered to venture into other farming areas such as fish farming in order to increase their sources of income as the district now has a fisheries unit to support anyone who intends to venture into such area.

There was an open forum after the District Chief Executive’s address for the people to also voice out their opinions and concerns. Issues raised included ways of converting a deplorable CHPS compound into a Health centre.
